Castle Hill, Rhode Island Harbour Lights #116 Located at the west end of Newport, Rhode Island, Castle Hill was first lighted in 1890. Built into a rocky ledge, this fortress-like building was made of heavy, rough, granite blocks in a Richardsonian-Romanesque style. The upper portion of the structure is painted white, while the lower parts are left natural.  The original keeper's dwelling and out buildings were all destroyed in the hurricane of 1938. Only the tower itself remains. It was automated in 1957 and is operational today.

Limited Edition History

Production Modifications: As one of the 'Original 17' Harbour Lights, approximately the first 250 pieces were cast in Southern California.  Production was then shifted to Castle Studios in Ontario, Canada. During the time of Canadian production, some improvement  of the details was made, especially around the windows.  Production was later shifted to Malaysia. Many editions had lightning rods.

There have been some painting variations, especially in the color of the rocks around the lighthouse. No other known variations, unlike most of the original 17 from 1991.
