Production Modifications: HL401 Cape Hatteras was the very first open edition released by Harbour Lights. When first introduced in 1994, the name for the open edition line was "Great American Lighthouses". However this was changed to "Great Lighthouses of the World" in 1995. GLOW editions are serially numbered with a letter prefix. The letter prefix starts at "A" for the first production year. Numbers restart at "1" each year.

Thus the 1994 Cape Hatteras issues had serial numbers starting at "A1". 1995 Production started at "B1". Beginning with the "B" series, the "Great American Lighthouses" name was dropped and a copyright was added to the flag.  More information on production modifications for Harbour Lights.
