Completed just after the Civil War, the lighthouse on Old Mission Point resides on the tip of a peninsula that divides the bay north of Traverse City. It is fascinating to note that this quaint wooden sentinel is situated directly on the 45th parallel, halfway between the equator and the North Pole.
