On December 31, 1999, as required by treaty, the United States transferred the ownership of the Canal to the Republic of Panama. To honor this historic event, we present this commemorative matched set. Gatun and Miraflores Locks lighthouses demonstrate the ornate workmanship devoted to the sentinels that are within view of passing ships or the railroad.
