Why is there no edition size on the flag of my Peggy's Cove?

Peggy's Cove is one of nine lighthouses we made in 1995-96 that either were first issued as "open editions" (7) or were planned to be issued as "open editions" (2). At the request of our collectors, we changed the status of these nine  lighthouses from open to limited. As open editions, the flag shows no edition size. You can learn more about this production change here.

Are limited editions built to the same scale? If so, what is the scale?

No, the lighthouses are not to scale from one lighthouse to next. That wouldn't be practical since some would be much smaller and some much larger than they are currently shown. Consider Cape Meares OR which has a tower height of about 40' (about 3" in our sculpture) vs. Cape Hatteras with a tower height of 200' (the Revised 102 Cape Hatteras Limited Edition is about 8" tall). Our sculpture of Cape Hatteras would have to be about 15" tall to be in the same scale as Cape Meares.

A lighthouse I bought from another collector didn't have the small tent card with the name of the lighthouse.

Early year pieces did not come with a tent card, these started about 1996. Call Harbour Lights at 800-365-1219. If you just need a few tent cards, we'll mail them to you at no cost. Use this Request Form.

Can I get a replacement box and Styrofoam insert for a lighthouse I have?

We receive many requests and inquiries about original packaging. Typically a dealer or collector will have removed the Styrofoam popcorn or molded box insert in order to save space. These collectors feel that somehow their packaging is incomplete.

We define 'original packaging' as the original box (usually with the photo background of Portland Head Light in blue) along with the certificate of authenticity which includes the history of the lighthouse. The internal packaging materials are all generic and even change from time to time. These items should not be considered integral to the collectible. For those reasons, we do not stock or provide replacement packaging materials.

Of course the molded inserts provide the most protection should you need to pack and ship or mail your lighthouse somewhere, but we understand the amount of storage space un-collapsed boxes can occupy. You'll have to decide for yourself whether or not to save the inserts.

I've lost the "Certificate of Authenticity" for one of my lighthouses. Can I get a replacement?

Yes, Harbour Lights has replacement certificates for each lighthouse we've ever made. We'll be happy to send  you a free replacement. Just call us at 800-365-1219 and ask for a Service Representative or use this Request Form. We also have replacement stickers used on the bottom of lighthouses; the same sticker is used on boxes.

How can I find a retired limited edition lighthouse?

When a lighthouse 'retires', it means that all of the edition has been ordered by retail dealers.  That does not mean that all of the edition has been sold to collectors. The first step is to check with retail dealers. Start with dealers near you using the dealer search. Check the Retired@Retail service on this web site or call Harbour Lights (800-365-1219). We may be able to help you find a dealer who still has the piece you are looking for.

However, after a few years, the supply of a limited edition lighthouse may have been sold to collectors. In this case you will have to turn to the 'secondary market'.

Can I use a photo from this web site to sell a lighthouse on ebay?

No. All images and text are protected by Copyright law. You may print out pages from the web site for your personal use (such as keeping a notebook of your collection). But you may not make multiple copies for others. Only Harbour Lights retail dealers may use specific images in support of their sales. See more information on our Copyright.

How can I find which lighthouses Harbour Lights has made from one state?

Use our product search.  Enter the two letter abbreviation for the state in the state field. To see a list of several states, delimit each two letter abbreviation with a comma.
